Our
villa is situated just 20 minutes from the airport in the highly sought after
area of Binibeca (Binibequer) Playa on the south
east
coast
of
Menorca. The sandy beach (ideal for children) is a 10
minute walk away and is home to the famous Buccaneros Beach Bar and restaurant. Other
places of interest nearby include:-
Cala Torret - (10 minute walk) Has several waterside bars and
restaurants, a supermarket and for the more adventurous
a diving school.
Binibeca Vell - (20 minute walk or 5 minute drive) Has a good selection of
shops, restaurants and bars in a traffic free environment.
San Lluis - (10 minute drive) Has a good range of local shops, restaurants
(including the Cafeteria Don Quijote with broadband internet access at €2/hour),
bars and banks. On the outskirts of the town, there is a large 'Syp' supermarket
and an arena which hosts the weekly Roman style trotting races.
Mahon - (20 minute drive) Is the capital of Menorca and has everything you
would expect from a large town. The huge harbour, which is the largest natural
harbour in the Mediterranean (a must see), has a huge array of shops, bars
and restaurants catering for every taste.
Also within a 20 minute drive away, you can find the famous jazz club at San
Clemente, watersports at S'Algar, the harbour side restaurants at Es Castell
and the beaches of Punta Prima, Alcaufar and Binisafua.
